LEGO<\/a> fans are invited to take a trip down memory lane with the brick-building company’s upcoming model in collaboration with PlayStation. <\/p>\n

The set recreates the iconic original PlayStation console and controller in nearly 2,000 pieces, including standout features such as functional Open and Power buttons, a plug-in controller and hidden buildable dioramas of games Gran Turismo and Ape Escape.<\/p>\n

Today (3 September), the LEGO Group invites fans to press \u2018Start\u2019 on a brick building trip down memory lane with the reveal of the LEGO\u00ae PlayStation\u2122. This epic 1,911-piece set pays tribute to the console that redefined gaming, featuring the unmistakable grey silhouette of the original PlayStation\u00ae console, alongside its very first revolutionary controller. <\/p>\n

With an RRP of \u00a3139.99, this 1,911-piece premium model recreates the grey silhouette of the 1990s console alongside its controller in a near 1:1 scale replica, measuring over 2.5 in. (6 cm) high, 10.5 in. (26 cm) wide and 7.5 in. (19 cm) deep.<\/p>\n

Builders can also assemble a mini track from Gran Turismo, originally released in 1997, with tiny cars ready to race, and a scene from 1999 video game Ape Escape, featuring the game’s red or blue monkey helmet. These dioramas can be concealed inside the console or displayed alongside the model.

LEGO’s latest isn’t available just yet, though. LEGO Insiders will have early access to grab the set from 1 October, while the PlayStation set is expected to go on general sale on 4 October.<\/p>\n
