{"id":158968,"date":"2026-09-03T22:12:07","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T22:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/158968\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T22:12:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T22:12:07","slug":"denmark-deploys-troops-to-greenland-as-us-hints-at-use-of-force-to-take-arctic-territory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/158968\/","title":{"rendered":"Denmark deploys troops to Greenland as US hints at use of force to take Arctic territory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Denmark has deployed conscripts to Greenland as part of a military exercise aimed at strengthening its Arctic defenses, following repeated threats by US President Donald Trump to occupy\u00a0the territory.<\/p>\n<p>Copenhagen sent its first group of conscripts to Greenland under an expanded military service program as Denmark seeks to bolster its military presence in the Arctic.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish troops are participating in Arctic Endurance, an exercise designed to train soldiers to operate and survive in Greenland\u2019s harsh terrain and extreme cold.<\/p>\n<p>The exercise is also part of NATO\u2019s Arctic Sentry Mission, launched this year to strengthen the alliance\u2019s presence in the Arctic following tensions over Trump\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It shows presence that we are here and not just thinking of our own skin.
