Randers FC dealt a blow to Brondby’s title aspirations when the Jutland team recorded a very comfortable 3-0 win at Brondby Stadium on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Reality has set in for Brondby<\/a> following a promising start under new head coach Thomas Norgaard<\/a>.\u00a0While the away defeat to FC Nordsjaelland<\/a> in the previous round didn’t raise any major alarms, Sunday’s 0\u20133 home loss to Randers FC<\/a> is bound to cause concern in the Copenhagen suburbs.<\/p>\n

Even though Brondby enjoyed plenty of possession, they lacked the ability to create meaningful chances.\u00a0The defeat leaves Br\u00f8ndby in fifth place with 13 points from seven games. With the win, Randers move up to ten points and seventh place.<\/p>\n

The visitors got off to a dream start when effective pressing led to them winning the ball high up the pitch after just a few minutes.<\/p>\n

The ball fell to Elies Mahmoud<\/a>, who fired a shot from distance that went in off the post.<\/p>\n

Randers found success with their pressing game early on before Brondby settled into the match. Gradually, the home side took control of proceedings, but they struggled significantly to create clear-cut chances.<\/p>\n

The home side continued to control the game after the break in search of chances, while Randers looked to capitalize on counter-attacks. Paul Izzo was rarely called upon to make saves against Brondby’s harmless attempts, which seldom even hit the target.<\/p>\n

Credit where credit is due. Luck was also on the visitors’ side. When Mike Themsen made it 2\u20130 in the 66th minute, he benefited from both a deflection and the goalpost.<\/p>\n

Thomas Norgaard pushed his team even further forward in an all-out attacking move. But just five minutes later, they were punished for it.<\/p>\n
