The Danske Bank Schools Cup competitions were officially launched at Affidea Stadium today.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Greg Irwin, President IRFU Ulster Branch, welcomed coaches and players from last season\u2019s winners, Campbell College (Schools Cup and Under 16 Cup), Wallace High School (Medallion Shield), Craigavon High School (High Schools Cup) and Enniskillen Royal Grammar School (Girls Schools Cup).<\/p>\n
Also present were representatives from Danske Bank, including Head of Private Banking, Ian Russell.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to wish the players and coaches from all competing schools the very best of luck for the season ahead, with everyone aiming to be here at the Affidea Stadium again on St Patrick\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
“I would also like to thank Danske Bank for their invaluable support of our school\u2019s game,” said Irwin.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Schools Committee Chair, Richard Clingan, echoed Irwin\u2019s words by praising the strong ties between Ulster Rugby and Danske Bank that have been built-up over the last two decades.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Danske Bank Schools Cup remains one of the most prestigious cup competitions in the local rugby calendar, and I would like to thank Danske Bank for their continued backing which is now entering its 22nd year.<\/p>\n
\u201cDanske Bank has helped the competition grow year-on-year, with the St Patrick\u2019s Day Final one of the highlights of the rugby year\u201d<\/p>\n
Ian Russell, of Danske Bank added, \u201cIt\u2019s great to be back at Affidea Stadium at the beginning of what I\u2019m sure will be another exciting Schools Rugby season.<\/p>\n
\u201cDanske Bank are honoured again to play its part in this exciting and thrilling competition, and I would like to wish all competing teams every success for the coming season.\u201d<\/p>\n
