The release marks a clear shift from her recent explorations of post-punk, krautrock, ambient, and field recordings. Drawing on 20th-century minimalism, chamber-pop, and modern classical traditions, the album narrows its focus without losing the emotional intensity that defines her work.

The title references both a cultural era and a political warning. ‘Weimar’ gestures toward the collapse of the Weimar Republic and the rise of fascism that followed, framing the record within today’s climate of nationalism and censorship. Ocher’s writing continues to examine identity, fear, and belonging with precision and resolve.

Born in Moscow to Jewish-Ukrainian parents and raised in Tel Aviv, Ocher refused the draft at twenty and relocated to Berlin, where she became a key underground figure known for merging music, art, politics, and sharp cultural criticism. Her collaborators have included Mogwai, King Khan, Die Tödliche Doris, Roberto Cacciapaglia, and Felix Kubin, alongside tribute projects honoring Delia Derbyshire, Dorothy Ashby, and Omar Khayyam.

Following extensive touring across Europe, the UK, Australia, North America, and New Zealand, Ocher now brings ‘Weimar’ to the stage.
