Finland\u2019s Electro Narcosis are making their debut with The Age of Degenerates, a politically charged EP that blends hardcore punk, metalcore, and death metal, addressing fascism, climate collapse, animal exploitation, and mental health.<\/p>\n

The Helsinki band began as a solo project from guitarist Ville Senil\u00e4 before quickly growing into a full group. \u201cElectro Narcosis started as my solo project, but I really struggled to come up with vocal ideas,\u201d he explains to No Echo. \u201cI told my brother from another mother, Elias, about my struggles, and he said he could give it a shot. I sent him the songs, and he almost instantly replied that they reminded him of Nailbomb, and I knew I had done something right.\u201d From there, the two began working together, eventually bringing in drummer Eerik to round out the lineup.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur style sails between hardcore punk and metalcore, and we\u2019ve got some death metal influences as well,\u201d Senil\u00e4 says, pointing to Sepultura, Disrupt, Dropdead, Incendiary, and World of Pleasure among the band\u2019s inspirations.<\/p>\n

The EP\u2019s title track sets the tone for the release. \u201cIt\u2019s about how the ruling class and fascists are exploiting ordinary people and the planet just to make a profit,\u201d Senil\u00e4 says. \u201cThe new dark ages are just around the corner, and this is only the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the band plans to film a music video, play shows, and work toward a second EP later this year. Senil\u00e4 also shouts out fellow Finnish acts Gray State and Ecotage as bands worth checking out.<\/p>\n
