Directed by Mona Fastvold and co-written with Brady Corbet, the film tells the story of Ann Lee, the 18th-century founder of the Shakers. Fastvold praised Seyfried\u2019s dedication, saying she was \u201creally generous with her time\u201d and fully committed during the year-long preparation process.
