{"id":19680,"date":"2026-02-20T19:06:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T19:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/19680\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T19:06:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T19:06:18","slug":"torchlight-procession-held-in-the-streets-of-vilnius-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/19680\/","title":{"rendered":"Torchlight procession held in the streets of Vilnius"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To commemorate the 108th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian state, the youth organization &#8220;Pro Patria&#8221; organized a torchlight procession in Vilnius on Monday, as it does every year.<\/p>\n<p>The marchers gathered at the Gate of Dawn on Monday evening, where, after a priest spoke, they sang a hymn together. Later, the procession moved towards Jonas Basanavi\u010dius Square, where the signatories of the February 16th Act were honored.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately afterwards, a column of several hundred people carrying torches, the Lithuanian tricolor, and the Vytis flag marched towards Luki\u0161k\u0117s Square.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, more than 500 people gathered for this march. During it, the controversial slogan &#8220;Lithuania &#8211; for Lithuanians&#8221; was chanted several times.<\/p>\n<p>The torchlight procession organized by the youth organization &#8220;Pro Patria&#8221;
