To commemorate the 108th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian state, the youth organization “Pro Patria” organized a torchlight procession in Vilnius on Monday, as it does every year.<\/p>\n

The marchers gathered at the Gate of Dawn on Monday evening, where, after a priest spoke, they sang a hymn together. Later, the procession moved towards Jonas Basanavi\u010dius Square, where the signatories of the February 16th Act were honored.<\/p>\n

Immediately afterwards, a column of several hundred people carrying torches, the Lithuanian tricolor, and the Vytis flag marched towards Luki\u0161k\u0117s Square.<\/p>\n

Last year, more than 500 people gathered for this march. During it, the controversial slogan “Lithuania – for Lithuanians” was chanted several times.<\/p>\n

The torchlight procession organized by the youth organization “Pro Patria” has been taking place in Vilnius since 2018.<\/p>\n
