We first wrote about Carolyn Bessette Kennedy\u2019s (supposed) favorite berry-colored lipstick in 2017. In the almost ten years since, the price has gone up $8 and the collective obsession around every detail of her style has somehow only intensified \u2014 and reached a fever pitch with Love Story. The color \u2014 which always reminded us a little of another timeless favorite of ours, Clinique Black Honey <\/a>\u2014 is just as wearable today.<\/p>\n

I bought my first tube of Cranberry Veil lipstick at the Face Stockholm store in Rhinebeck, New York, in what must have been 2008. So peak recession, and also \u2014 for me \u2014 mid-college. All of which is to say that I was very much primed to spend money on the sorts of tiny luxuries that economists and psychologists all agree make people feel disproportionately richer than they are.<\/p>\n

The brick but still bright color is freakishly flattering<\/a>, and the semi-sheer coverage makes it look especially good on an otherwise bare face. At the time, I bought it specifically because it reminded me of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy<\/a>. Then, years later, Cat Marnell<\/a> linked to a blog post<\/a> that \u201cproved\u201d (whatever that means) that indeed CBK was a Face Stockholm Cranberry Veil fanatic! For better or worse (worse), I\u2019ve never been so impressed with myself.<\/p>\n
