NUUK, Feb 21 (Reuters)\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Denmark\u2019s Joint Arctic Command said on Saturday it had evacuated a crew member who required urgent medical treatment from a U.S. submarine in\u00a0Greenlandic waters, seven nautical miles outside of\u00a0Greenland\u2019s capital Nuuk.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The crew member has been transferred to the\u00a0Greenlandic health authorities and the hospital in Nuuk, the Joint Arctic Command said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The evacuation was carried out using the Danish Defence Seahawk helicopter, it added.<\/p>\n
