<\/p>\nAfter its emotional reception at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa last November, Oslo: A Tail of Promise had its grand premiere in Pune on Saturday. The evening saw the presence of the film\u2019s cast and crew, along with its presenter and producer, John Abraham, who graced the occasion.<\/p>\n

Based on real lives and lived moments, Oslo: A Tail of Promise is a legacy non-fiction film \u2014 a cinematic narration of how two beings meet, collide, heal, and ultimately shape each other. When Oslo, a Siberian Husky with a wounded past, finds Pooja, a woman searching for belonging, an extraordinary journey of love, resilience, and mutual healing begins. The film celebrates the eternal gifts that animals and nature offer humanity.<\/p>\n
Presented and produced by John Abraham, the film captures the profound bond between Oslo and Pooja R Bhale, founder of the Protecterra Ecological Foundation. The story unfolds as an intimate portrait of coexistence \u2014 where companionship transcends species.<\/p>\n
Producer John Abraham says, \u201cThis film is a reminder that animals are not here to serve us or entertain us but they are here to teach us. Oslo doesn\u2019t just find a home with Pooja; he gives her one within herself. Stories like these need to be told because compassion is not a choice, it\u2019s a responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the heart of the film lies the dynamic between its two protagonists \u2014 a dog and his girl. Pooja R Bhale is a woman who creates her own world, makes a home out of a tent, surrounds herself with animals, and chooses love bravely while standing outside the boxes society tries to place her in. Through her journey, the film quietly but powerfully dismantles stereotypes.<\/p>\n
Producer Amey Gosavi of Vaanar Nirmit explains how the narrative challenges convention, \u201cIn most stories, dogs become symbols of masculinity, adventure, ruggedness, and youthful boyhood. Oslo \u2013 A Tail of Promise turns this idea inside out. It shows how a woman occupies that same space. Through Oslo\u2019s eyes, we witness a version of Pooja that society often fails to see.\u201d<\/p>\n
Directed by Isha Pungaliya, the film remains rooted in authenticity, resisting dramatization in favour of emotional truth. Isha Pungaliya says, \u201cI never wanted to make a film about a dog or about a woman. I wanted to make a film about listening to nature, and to relationships that exist beyond language. Oslo and Pooja\u2019s bond felt sacred, and my job was simply to honour it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Oslo: A Tail of Promise is directed by Isha Pungaliya and presented by John Abraham. It is a joint production by JA Entertainment, Protecterra Ecological Foundation, and Vaanar Nirmit. It is being distributed by Yusuf Shaikh of Janta Cinema.<\/p>\n
