This new rail route will link Malm\u00f6 to Oslo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n         Published on<br \/>\n            24\/02\/2026 &#8211; 7:00 GMT+1\n            <\/p>\n<p>Travellers planning a multi-destination summer break in Scandinavia will be able to book a new direct train route between two of the region\u2019s most popular cities. <\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Starting on 15 June 2026, and running daily in both directions, a new cross-border <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/tag\/trains\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rail<\/a> link by Swedish company Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get will operate from Malm\u00f6 to Oslo via Gothenburg. <\/p>\n<p>With a journey taking passengers along the west coast of Sweden and across the border to Norway\u2019s capital, the northbound service will depart Malm\u00f6 Centralstation at 6:38 am and reach Oslo Central Station at 1:13 pm. Southbound services then leave Oslo at 2.48 pm and arrive in Malm\u00f6 at 9:25 pm. <\/p>\n<p>A key feature of the new service is the inclusion of the operator\u2019s restaurant car, Krogen, on all departures along the Malm\u00f6-Gothenburg-Oslo route. The cheapest rebookable fares start from SEK 149 (14 euro). Booking is open until 28 October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Stations and international services<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Malm\u00f6 and Oslo, the train calls at Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad and Varberg, before continuing towards Trollh\u00e4ttan and on to Norway, stopping at Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad. In the Gothenburg area, trains will not stop at the main central station but instead at M\u00f6lndal and Gamlestaden. From both stations, travellers can connect easily via local V\u00e4sttrafik commuter trains and trams into central Gothenburg, to Liseberg amusement park or onward across the region. <\/p>\n<p>The service also strengthens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/travel\/2026\/01\/30\/europes-rail-network-renaissance-continues-with-five-new-trains-launching-in-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">international rail links<\/a>. In Malm\u00f6, passengers can change trains to continue south to Copenhagen and Hamburg, or board Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get\u2019s night train to Berlin. <\/p>\n<p>From 4 May 2026, Sn\u00e4llt\u00e5get will also launch a new international daytime service linking Stockholm, Malm\u00f6, Copenhagen and Hamburg.
