Sparqle<\/a>, an Amsterdam-based startup building an emission-free logistics infrastructure for modern e-commerce, has raised \u20ac1.5 million, including financing from the European Union, for European expansion.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company is active in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France and is working to expand into multiple European cities.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission is to create a logistics ecosystem that combines sustainability with performance and customer satisfaction, meeting the demands of modern e-commerce. We don\u2019t design band-aids for a broken system\u2013 we\u2019re building the foundation on which current and next-generation e-commerce can thrive,\u201d said Ruurd Tjeerdema, co-founder of Sparqle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Across 2025\u20132026, EU-Startups reporting indicates sustained investment in logistics and e-commerce delivery infrastructure across multiple layers of the value chain. This includes Relay\u2019s<\/a> \u20ac33.4m Series A to modernise parcel delivery operations, HIVED\u2019s<\/a> \u20ac35.6m raise to expand its electric, e-commerce-first delivery network, and Portugal-based Lyzer<\/a> securing over \u20ac10m to scale its retail logistics platform.<\/p>\n

In the out-of-home (OOH) delivery segment, London-based HubBox<\/a> raised \u20ac6.8m to develop its OOH delivery software, while Bloq.it<\/a> closed a \u20ac28m Series B to expand its locker infrastructure across Europe.<\/p>\n

Funding has also flowed into fleet, fulfilment, and operational platforms, including Vok Bikes\u2019<\/a> \u20ac5m round for electric cargo bikes, Quivo\u2019s<\/a> \u20ac5.2m funding to support fulfilment expansion, MyDello\u2019s<\/a> \u20ac3.1m raise in shipping logistics, and Qargo\u2019s<\/a> \u20ac28m Series B for the development and scaling of its transport management system.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2022 by Tim van Alphen, Ruurd Tjeerdema, and Maurice Stam, Sparqle is a sustainable delivery network that connects e-commerce brands with emission-free shipping options. By combining proprietary software, rider app, and fleet of e-cargo bikes and electric vehicles, Sparqle claims to optimise delivery routes for maximum efficiency and minimal environmental impact.<\/p>\n

Sparqle believes that while e-commerce has evolved in speed, transparency, and consumer expectations, delivery is lagging. \u201cThe delivery industry is outdated, the system is outdated, andthere is too much focus on cost and volume instead of customer experience. Today\u2019s consumers expect a seamless experience at every step of the customer journey. But what we often see is that this positive experience ends at delivery, where a single misstep can instantly destroy the trust a brand has carefully built. That\u2019s simply not acceptable anymore,\u201d says Tjeerdema.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sparqle notes that delivery is often viewed as the final step of a transaction, but it actually serves as a key touchpoint that significantly impacts customer experience and brand perception. \u201cDelivery is the only physical point of contact an online brand has with its customer. It should be more than simply getting the package from A to B; it needs to feel like an integrated brand experience. We see delivery as part of the product our clients sell,\u201d adds Tjeerdema.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, the company officially became a Certified B Corporation. In 2024, it completed a \u20ac1.2 million investment round. The funding was led by a group of business angels, including the former Managing Director of Deliveroo EU, the former CTO of Just Eat Takeaway, and the Bloomon founder, alongside Graduate Entrepreneur Fund. Decathlon and Ricoh are some of its clients.\u00a0<\/p>\n
