WARSAW (Dunya News) \u2013 Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Interior, led Pakistan\u2019s delegation at a six-country conference on illegal immigration held in Warsaw, Poland, aimed at strengthening cooperation against human smuggling and irregular migration.<\/p>\n
The conference was attended by the interior ministers of Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Lithuania, who discussed coordinated strategies to curb illegal immigration networks and dismantle human trafficking operations.<\/p>\n
Participants commended Pakistan\u2019s efforts in tackling illegal migration and combating human smuggling, acknowledging the country\u2019s role in disrupting cross-border criminal networks. The member states also agreed in principle to explore the provision of official employment opportunities for Pakistani workers through legal channels.<\/p>\n
During the session, Mohsin Naqvi briefed attendees on the prevailing situation along the Pak-Afghan border, highlighting security challenges faced by Pakistan. He stated that approximately 22 terrorist organisations were currently operating and regrouping in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
\u201cPakistan today stands as a wall between terrorists operating in Afghanistan and the wider world,\u201d he remarked, emphasising the country\u2019s commitment to regional and international security.<\/p>\n
The conference concluded with a shared resolve among participating nations to enhance information-sharing mechanisms, strengthen border management systems and promote lawful migration pathways.<\/p>\n
