{"id":3020,"date":"2026-02-07T11:04:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T11:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/3020\/"},"modified":"2026-02-07T11:04:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T11:04:22","slug":"trailer-unveiled-for-berlin-drama-a-family-starring-carice-van-houten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/3020\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailer Unveiled For Berlin Drama A Family Starring Carice Van Houten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEXCLUSIVE: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/carice-van-houten\/\" id=\"auto-tag_carice-van-houten\" data-tag=\"carice-van-houten\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carice van Houten<\/a> hits the Berlinale this month in Mees Peijnenburg\u2019s Dutch-language drama A Family and Deadline can unveil the trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe feature sees the Game of Thrones and Black Book star return to the big screen for the first time in six years, after a slew of TV dramas including thriller Malice, in which she co-starred opposite Jack Whitehall and David David Duchovny.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPeijnenburg\u2019s emotional drama follows a family breakup through the perspective of 14-year-old Eli and his 17-year-old sister Nina, as they oscillate between loyalties and anger toward their parents and a longing for emotional safety and a sense of home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI\u00a0\u00adimmediately felt a deep connection to the project; it\u2019s a human story about family dynamics and our universal need for emotional safety when the world beneath us begins to tremble,\u201d said van Houten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe is joined in the cast by Pieter Embrechts as the father and rising young talents Celeste Holsheimer and Finn Vogels who take centerstage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt is the second feature from Peijnenburg who is regarded as one the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/netherlands\/\" id=\"auto-tag_netherlands\" data-tag=\"netherlands\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Netherlands<\/a>\u2018 hottest rising directing talents. His debut\u00a0Paradise Drifters\u00a0premiered at the Berlinale in 2020, following in the wake of his short films A Hole in My Heart and Even Cowboys Get to Cry which played at the festival too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe production reunites Peijnenburg with Paradise Drifters cinematographer Jasper Wolf who has worked on a dozen films since, including David Verbeek\u2019s Dead and Beautiful, \u00c1sa Helga Hj\u00f6rleifsd\u00f3ttir\u2019s A Letter From Helga, Guy Nattiv\u2019s Golda and Halina Reijn\u2019s Babygirl.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIt is produced by Iris Otten and Nathalie van der Burg of Amsterdam-based Juliet at Pupkin, in co-production with producer and director team Michiel and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lukas-dhont\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lukas-dhont\" data-tag=\"lukas-dhont\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lukas Dhont<\/a> of The Reunion, makers of Cannes Cam\u00e9ra d\u2019Or winner Girl and the Cannes Grand Prize winner and Oscar-nominated Close.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cRarely is a divorce drama shown from the children\u2019s perspective. I wanted to explore that territory where arguments are fought over the children\u2019s heads and how the children become a mirror of their parents\u2019 behavior.
