Scottish craft beer manufacturer Brewdog\u00a0is to\u00a0file for bankruptcy\u00a0in Germany, affecting\u00a0Berlin\u00a0bars\u00a0and\u00a0its brewery in Mariendorf.<\/p>\n<p>The Brewdog Group, originally from Scotland, is also struggling to survive as a company in Columbus, USA, and Brisbane, Australia.\u00a0In 2025,\u00a0they incurred\u00a0a loss of\u00a0approximately\u00a0\u20ac42.3 million. Simply, costs are running out.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Berliner Morgenpost\u00a0first\u00a0reported\u00a0the insolvency news, citing an email received by employees from Brewdog founder James Watt in February. The email made it clear that a\u00a0provisional insolvency administrator\u00a0would be appointed. They will explore the company\u2019s next options. Talks are\u00a0apparently\u00a0underway with potential investors.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0upcoming insolvency\u00a0will impact\u00a0the bar\u00a0on\u00a0Ackerstra\u00dfe\u00a0in Mitte and the brewery in Mariendorf.\u00a0The bar in Friedrichshain\u00a0at\u00a0Frankfurter Tor\u00a0has been closed for about\u00a0six\u00a0weeks.\u00a0Brewdog\u00a0arrived in Berlin in 2016, initially with a bar, followed by its own production facilities.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbb24.de\/panorama\/beitrag\/2026\/01\/kommentar-stromausfall-berlin-krisenmanagement.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"IMAGO \/\u00a0Sch\u00f6ning Tuesday, March 3 Brewdog\u2019s tap has run dry \u2013 at least in Germany.
