{"id":32312,"date":"2026-03-04T04:27:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-04T04:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/32312\/"},"modified":"2026-03-04T04:27:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-04T04:27:12","slug":"hong-kong-suspends-poultry-imports-from-denmark-and-sweden-after-h5n1-outbreaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/32312\/","title":{"rendered":"Hong Kong suspends poultry imports from Denmark and Sweden after H5N1 outbreaks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-1709834\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Fjerkrae-735x980.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"735\" height=\"980\"  \/>Hong Kong has suspended poultry and egg imports from Denmark and Sweden after H5N1 outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong\u2019s Centre for Food Safety has told the trade to halt certain poultry imports from affected areas in Denmark and Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>The move follows reports of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in Lolland Municipality and Tors\u00e5s Municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The same measure also covers specific districts in Germany and Poland linked to H5N1 reports.<\/p>\n<p>In Germany, the areas named are Leer, Schaumburg and Wilhelmshaven in Lower Saxony.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong imported about 450 tonnes of frozen poultry meat and about 210,000 eggs from Denmark last year.<\/p>\n<p>It imported about 30 tonnes of frozen poultry meat from Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>The CFS said the suspensions take effect immediately and are intended to protect public health.<\/p>\n<p>It also said it has contacted relevant authorities and will monitor updates from WOAH and national agencies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Hong Kong has suspended poultry and egg imports from Denmark and Sweden after H5N1 outbreak.
