Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is still undergoing tests to try deal with a mystery illness that has kept the Derby County goalkeeper out for much of the past six weeks, with Rams boss John Eustace describing it a “worrying time”.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old Sweden international has missed seven of the past eight matches, and featured in none since playing in the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on 23 January.<\/p>\n

That is the only appearance he has made since first being ruled out of action when warming up to face Charlton Athletic earlier in January.<\/p>\n

Zetterstrom has not trained with team-mates for a number of weeks now, although Eustace added that the goalkeeper has shown signs of improvement and is “feeling better”.<\/p>\n

“He’s just not at the level to perform on a Saturday and train every day,” Eustace told BBC Radio Derby.<\/a><\/p>\n

“We want to get the bottom of it, of course we do, and we are working hard and getting tests but there is something just not right at the moment.<\/p>\n

“It is a worrying time for everyone at the moment with Jacob. We just need to be a bit patient with him.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Derby have also lost defender Callum Elder for up to six weeks after he underwent knee surgery.<\/p>\n

The Australia international had the operation on what was an existing problem after he was already ruled out with a fractured toe.<\/p>\n

Eustace says he hopes to have the 31-year-old back after the international break in April.<\/p>\n

“That’s obviously a big blow to us,” Eustace said.<\/p>\n

“He had been playing with a chronic knee problem and it just shows the character of the player and how he goes about his business.<\/p>\n

“This was the time, when he hurt his toe, that he could actually get his knee fixed as well.”<\/p>\n
