Harry Styles says a Radiohead concert in Berlin reminded him exactly why he walks out onstage night after night.<\/p>\n
\nThe 32-year-old singer explained how being part of the crowd \u2014 not the performer \u2014 gave him a jolt of clarity about his purpose as an artist.<\/p>\n
\nHarry said the realisation hit him while he was deep in the audience, surrounded by strangers who were completely\u00a0lost in the music.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: \u201cI think dancing in Berlin.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI went to see Radiohead in Berlin, and felt so part of the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHarry explained that instead of watching the band from a distance, he became absorbed in the atmosphere around him \u2014 the tiny interactions, the shared emotion, the way the crowd moved as one.<\/p>\n
\nHe went on: \u201cI\u2019m watching this and feeling everything that\u2019s happening around me in the crowd.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThere\u2019s people picking up each other\u2019s things and people are bringing each other things. It\u2019s this sense of strangers looking at each other and massaging each other\u2019s shoulders when someone\u2019s emotional and looking into the eyes of a stranger and screaming out a chorus together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThat sense of unity, he said, made him suddenly aware of the role he plays for his own fans.<\/p>\n
\nHe noted: \u201cI had a moment of like, \u2018I\u2019m there so that people can have this\u2019, you know? I\u2019m soundtracking this.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe moment appears to have been a turning point for Harry, who has been reflecting publicly on the emotional weight of performing and the responsibility that comes with it.<\/p>\n
\nIn a recent interview with Runner’s World UK, Harry – who has today (06.03.26) returned with his fourth solo album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occassionally. – admitted he has often questioned his purpose while touring.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cSomething I\u2019ve often struggled with, in the middle of a tour, is feeling like I\u2019m not sure what I\u2019m giving, not sure what I\u2019m adding to the world. Especially when the reward system and the kind of\u2026 adulation that you can receive feels so loud. Like clearly I\u2019m getting so much from this, I\u2019m getting all this energy. People are giving me so much, which I deeply appreciate. But what am I contributing?
