President Trump has called Mojtaba Khamenei \u201cunacceptable,\u201d<\/a> saying whoever leads the country should \u201cbring harmony and peace.\u201d He has also suggested the U.S. should have a say in choosing the next leader \u2014 an idea Iranian officials have firmly rejected.<\/p>\n Israel, meanwhile, has indicated that Iran\u2019s leadership could remain a target if the conflict escalates.<\/p>\n Norway police investigating explosion outside U.S. embassy<\/p>\n A loud explosion rocked the U.S. Embassy in Oslo early Sunday, and police say they aren\u2019t ruling out terrorism.<\/p>\n According to those on the ground, here\u2019s what we know so far: Authorities received several reports of a blast around 1 a.m. local time, which struck the front of the embassy. Damage appears to be minor, and no injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n Investigators are still working to determine what caused the explosion. When asked whether terrorism is being considered, he said it is \u201cone of the hypotheses,\u201d but emphasized police have not reached any firm conclusions.<\/p>\n New footage challenges federal account of a fatal shooting in Texas<\/p>\n Newly released videos are raising fresh questions about the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Ruben Ray Martinez, a U.S. citizen, by a federal immigration agent last spring.<\/p>\n At the time, the Department of Homeland Security said agents helping South Padre Island police manage traffic after an unrelated accident were intentionally run over by Martinez, leaving one officer on the hood of the vehicle.<\/p>\n But the latest footage<\/a> tells a more complicated story: Martinez\u2019s blue Ford is seen slowly approaching an intersection as pedestrians cross. At one point, someone can be heard telling the driver to \u201ckeep going.\u201d Moments later, officers appear alarmed and shout \u201cstop him\u201d followed by three gunshots.<\/p>\n The agent who fired, identified as Jack Stevens, said he approached the car after another officer yelled to \u201cget him out.\u201d Stevens told investigators he smelled marijuana coming from the driver\u2019s window, and a toxicology report released with the footage found Martinez\u2019s blood alcohol level was 0.12 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08%.<\/p>\n Stevens also told investigators that recent incidents involving vehicles used as weapons \u2014 including the deadly New Year\u2019s Day attack in New Orleans<\/a> \u2014 were \u201cfresh on my mind,\u201d according to DPS investigative documents.<\/p>\n The footage doesn\u2019t show the moment from Stevens\u2019 perspective, making it unclear whether Martinez\u2019s vehicle struck any officers. But Martinez\u2019s brake lights appear to be on when the shots are fired.<\/p>\n In a recorded interview, passenger Joshua Orta said an officer initially told them to keep moving past the accident scene and that Martinez appeared to panic as officers began yelling.<\/p>\n \u201cHe didn\u2019t floor the gas,\u201d Orta said. \u201cHe just kind of went forward a little bit and I guess they thought he was trying to run the cop over.\u201d<\/p>\n Orta said he saw an officer end up on the hood of the car but believes Martinez never intended to hit anyone.<\/p>\n Southwest flight diverted after midair security scare<\/p>\n A Southwest Airlines flight from Nashville to Fort Lauderdale was diverted to Atlanta<\/a> on Friday night over what the airline described as a \u201cpossible security matter.\u201d<\/p>\n A video circulating online<\/a> shows a tense scene inside the cabin after the plane landed, with travelers seated and holding their hands above their heads as law enforcement officers moved down the aisle.<\/p>\n Atlanta police \u2014 supported by federal officials \u2014 arrived at the aircraft and removed an individual who has not been publicly identified. Exactly what happened on board remains unclear: Authorities haven\u2019t said what the person allegedly did to prompt the security response, whether any charges have been filed, or if the individual has since been released.<\/p>\n Still, despite the unsettling scene captured online, the situation appears to have been resolved relatively quickly. The remaining passengers later boarded another aircraft and continued on to Fort Lauderdale. A Southwest spokesperson said the airline has since reached out to apologize for the disruption.<\/p>\n Then on Sunday, in a separate incident, parts of Kansas City International Airport were temporarily evacuated<\/a> after authorities investigated what officials described as a potential threat.\u00a0A spokesperson for the Kansas City Aviation Department said sections of the terminal were cleared as a \u201cprecaution\u201d while airport police worked with the FBI to assess the situation. The threat was first reported around 11:15 a.m. local time.
