{"id":36350,"date":"2026-03-09T19:46:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T19:46:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/36350\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T19:46:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T19:46:12","slug":"turkish-prosecutors-investigate-pop-star-over-concert-slogans-remarks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/36350\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkish prosecutors investigate pop star over concert slogans, remarks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/stockholmcf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Hande-Yener.jpeg\" data-caption=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" data-lazy- data-lazy- alt=\"\" title=\"Hande Yener\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Hande-Yener-696x392.jpeg\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Hande-Yener-696x392.jpeg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Hande Yener\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Turkish prosecutors have launched an investigation into pop singer Hande Yener over slogans she allegedly chanted with concertgoers and remarks she made on stage during performances in \u0130stanbul and Mu\u011fla, the Bianet news website <a href=\"https:\/\/bianet.org\/haber\/hande-yener-e-konser-sorusturmasi-317467\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Mu\u011fla Chief Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office initiated the probe after a complaint submitted via Turkey\u2019s Presidential Communication Center (C\u0130MER) by an individual who accused Yener of \u201cattempting to overthrow the constitutional order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) the offense is among the most serious crimes that carries a potential sentence of aggravated life imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>The complainant reportedly claimed that during a concert in \u0130stanbul in May 2025, Yener told the audience, \u201cWe will bring an end to this era,\u201d which he interpreted as a call to \u201coverthrow of the current government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also allegedly joined the audience in chanting the slogan, \u201cJump, jump, those who don\u2019t jump are Tayyip,\u201d during a concert in Mu\u011fla province on May 15, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Similar slogans have previously led to legal cases in Turkey. In one instance, women activists were <a href=\"https:\/\/stockholmcf.org\/17-womens-rights-activists-face-prison-for-insulting-erdogan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tried<\/a> for \u201cinsulting the president\u201d but were acquitted by a court.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors ordered the police to take Yener\u2019s testimony as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is the latest example of pressure on artists in Turkey over their political views.
