Florence Welch<\/a> joined Paris Paloma<\/a> for a joint performance of \u2018Labour\u2019 in Berlin last night (Monday March 9). Check out the footage below.<\/p>\n

Paloma opened for Florence + The Machine<\/a> on the UK and European leg of their \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019 arena tour<\/a>, which came to a close in the German capital yesterday.<\/p>\n

The support slot concluded with Paloma\u2019s hit 2023 single \u2018Labour\u2019, which has racked up over 382million streams on Spotify\u00a0<\/a>and reached the\u00a0top 30 in the UK charts (via Official Charts<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Paloma invited Welch to join her onstage at Berlin\u2019s Uber Arena to close her nine-song gig with the global feminist anthem. \u201cThis tour has been an absolute dream,\u201d she wrote on social media alongside a clip. \u201cThank you @florence<\/a> for joining me for the final show.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2023, NME said Paloma\u2019s music evoked \u201cthe vivid, quietly powerful lyricism of artists like\u00a0Florence Welch\u00a0and\u00a0Hozier<\/a>\u201d when speaking to the artist about her viral hit \u2018Labour\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think as an artist there\u2019s defining moments in your career, and sometimes it\u2019s difficult to notice them when they\u2019re happening,\u201d Paloma explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of the time it\u2019s retrospective; but I know this is a really pivotal point in my music career and my relationship with my listenership, and that\u2019s amazing. I feel very lucky to be aware of it as it\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI really need to start watching\u00a0Game Of Thrones\u00a0because this happened with \u2018Labour\u2019 and [previous single] \u2018The Fruits\u2019 \u2013 they both get used very heavily for\u00a0House Of The Dragon\u00a0and\u00a0Game Of Thrones fan edits online. I swear to god I know so much about that show just through watching edits of my own songs. I\u2019ve never seen that show, and I\u2019m trying to piece together the plot, so let\u2019s see if we can do it just by watching edits people make to \u2018Labour\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere on F+TM\u2019s \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019 tour, Welch brought out IDLES\u2019 Mark Bowen<\/a> \u2013 who collaborated with her<\/a> on her latest album<\/a>. The trek featured two shows at The O2 in London, as well as stops in Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Manchester and more cities.<\/p>\n

The North American leg of the tour<\/a> kicks off next month, before the band make appearances at numerous UK and European festivals. These include headline slots at Reading & Leeds<\/a>, Mad Cool<\/a> and NOS Alive<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a glowing, five-star review of \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019<\/a>, NME wrote: \u201cWhile 2022\u2019s \u2018Dance Fever\u2019<\/a> wrestled with the option of motherhood, much of \u2018Everybody Scream\u2019 dwells on mortality, often resembling both an homage and a prayer to generations of women who came before and will come after.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an album that aches and pulses with a sense of urgency \u2013 catharsis perhaps too plain a word to define the frenzy that runs through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
