Volvo has supplied DSV with four FH Aero Electric 4\u00d72 tractor units \u2013 part of the operator\u2019s commitment to take delivery of more than 300 zero-exhaust emission trucks from the manufacturer by 2026.<\/p>\n
The trucks \u2013 the first FH Aero Electrics to be put into operation in the UK \u2013 will be based in Immingham and used on routes previously served by diesel trucks.<\/p>\n
Supplied by Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland, the four new arrivals are equipped with the maximum six batteries, offering an approximate driving range of up to 300 km and a recharging time of 2.5 hours while using a 250kW DC charger.\u00a0<\/p>\n
These vehicles, which feature three electric motors, generating up to 666 hp and 2,400 Nm of continuous torque, form part of DSV\u2019s plan to run 2,000 electric models in its fleet by 2030.<\/p>\n
The Volvo FH cab\u2019s improved aerodynamics are particularly beneficial for the electric model, with the design enabling better free-rolling properties. It will allow for increased energy regeneration to recharge the battery under braking or while driving downhill, ready for use when needed in the next acceleration or uphill climb.<\/p>\n
In addition, they come with a five-year Volvo Gold Contract covering all maintenance and repairs, including proactive monitoring of batteries and associated components.<\/p>\n
