{"id":43565,"date":"2026-03-19T11:23:26","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T11:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/43565\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T11:23:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T11:23:26","slug":"airport-strike-halts-flights-out-of-berlin-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/43565\/","title":{"rendered":"Airport strike halts flights out of Berlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img alt=\"Around 2,000 staff are on strike at Berlin Brandenburg airport  (Getty Images)\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"standard-img w-full w-full h-auto\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/4a8875b90e6803436de48a12a380c17e.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Around 2,000 staff are on strike at Berlin Brandenburg airport (Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>No passenger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/flights\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:flights;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">flights<\/a> will depart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/berlin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Berlin;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Berlin<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/airport\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:airport;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">airport<\/a> on Wednesday as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/staff\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:staff;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">staff<\/a> stage a warning strike for higher wages.<\/p>\n<p>On 18 March, no scheduled passenger flights will take off from Berlin Brandenburg airport.<\/p>\n<p>Ver.di, a major German <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/trade-union\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:trade union;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">trade union<\/a>, has called on employees of airport operator Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB) to take part in strike action.<\/p>\n<p>The union said that the industrial action is a \u201cdirect consequence of the employers&#8217;
