by travelling to Greenland &#8216;for purposes unknown&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;The political leadership, the Defence and the security apparatus in Denmark decided to &#8220;play the game&#8221;,&#8217; a French official said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Danish soldiers carried ammunition and would engage in combat in the event of an invasion, while heavily armed F-35 fighter jets were moved north.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;We have not been in such a situation since April 1940,&#8217; a Danish defence source told DR.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Trump eventually abandoned threats to use force to take over Greenland but said he is hoping for &#8216;immediate negotiations&#8217;
