Timeshifter, an American sleep technology developer, has established a new development hub in Copenhagen, Denmark to support global expansion plans. In addition, the hub is focused on product development.<\/p>\n
The company plans to hire 15 full-time employees in Denmark over the next three years, with roles centred on research, innovation and software development. Three specialized staff members will soon be relocating from the United States to join the local team as well.<\/p>\n
The company selected Copenhagen because of its vibrant healthtech ecosystem and supportive business environment.<\/p>\n
Copenhagen Capacity, a local investment promotion and economic development organization, has supported the process by providing strategic advice, partner introductions and referrals to local professionals such as lawyers and accountants. It was the first to report<\/a> on this development on Mar. 19.<\/p>\n Asbj\u00f8rn Overgaard, CEO of Copenhagen Capacity, noted that this establishment will create jobs and contribute to the region\u2019s tech scene.<\/p>\n Timeshifter develops apps that help people align their internal body clocks with demanding schedules. The company bases its solutions on circadian science to enhance sleep, performance and overall health. It targets frequent travelers, shift workers, elite athletes and even astronauts.<\/p>\n The firm offers two primary apps. The Jet Lag App generates personalized plans for crossing time zones. It advises users on when to seek light exposure, take naps, consume caffeine or use melatonin to reduce or eliminate jet lag symptoms. This app ranks as the most downloaded and highest-rated jet lag tool globally.<\/p>\n The Shift Work App helps individuals with irregular labour hours, such as night shifts. It is designed to improve sleep quality, safety and daily performance by syncing rest patterns to non-traditional schedules.<\/p>\n Timeshifter maintains partnerships with prominent organizations. United Airlines Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: UAL<\/a>) (ETR: UAL1<\/a>) provides free subscriptions to its top-tier Premier 1K members and awards frequent flyer miles to others who sign up for the app.<\/p>\n Additionally, the Haas F1 Team relies on the app to create tailored schedules for crew members who spend around 200 days traveling each year. Haas is not the only racing team to integrate sleep optimization technology into its regimen. Mattress tech leader Eight Sleep partnered<\/a> with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team earlier this year to make its drivers more alert at the wheel.<\/p>\n Furthermore, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts offers guests access to Timeshifter\u2019s tools so they can reset their rhythms after long flights. This hotel chain has been prioritizing sleep tech recently, including through a partnership<\/a> with NuCalm initiated in mid-2025.<\/p>\n Recent reviews highlight the Jet Lag App\u2019s effectiveness. In a 2025 Metro test<\/a>, a traveler flew from London to Sydney and experienced no jet lag symptoms after closely following its plan. They reported sound sleep and energy upon arrival.<\/p>\n A New York Times Wirecutter review<\/a> in late 2024 found that the science behind the app holds up well, particularly for shorter trips with strict adherence.
