This follows two stop work orders issued by the Trump Administration in 2025. Twice the orders were overturned in court, allowing local workers to return to work and finish the job.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cDespite the Trump Administration\u2019s attempts to derail clean power to bolster dirty fossil fuels, Revolution Wind has prevailed,\u201d said\u00a0Samantha Dynowski, Sierra Club Connecticut Chapter Director.\u00a0\u201cWe are celebrating the arrival of clean, renewable power from Revolution Wind. This is a historic moment in the movement towards more affordable, more resilient and more sustainable energy for Connecticut families, businesses and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Once fully operational, Vineyard Wind is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 400,000 homes and businesses in Massachusetts. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/news\/2026\/03\/14\/vineyard-wind-construction-complete-massachusetts-offshore-wind\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">permitting process<\/a>\u00a0for Vineyard Wind started in 2017; most recently, courts overturned a stop-work order from the Trump administration when the project was more than 90 percent complete and already delivering electricity. Even as their court case unfolded, Vineyard Wind helped New Englanders\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canarymedia.com\/articles\/offshore-wind\/offshore-wind-showed-up-big-east-coast\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">weather winter storm Fern<\/a> \u2014 preventing blackouts, and keeping prices from spiking even higher.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe winds off of Massachusetts\u2019 coastline are already powering our homes and our lives, providing grid reliability, pollution-free energy and meaningful employment,\u201d said\u00a0Vick Mohanka, Sierra Club Massachusetts Chapter Director.\u00a0\u201cWe will continue the fight for a clean energy future for the Commonwealth and our pocketbooks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAcross the country, energy prices are skyrocketing \u2014 it has never been more urgent for offshore wind projects to move forward and deliver clean, reliable power to homes across New England,\u201d said\u00a0Sierra Club Senior Advisor Nancy Pyne.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019ll keep fighting for more offshore wind so the lights stay on and energy prices keep falling\u2014until all U.S. offshore wind projects under construction are built and sending power onshore.
