It takes audiences on a time-travel journey to 1990s Berlin, exploring euphoria and death \u2014 and offering a tribute to the late singer Anna R., who formed the Rosenstolz duo with Peter Plate.<\/p>\n<p>It is the fifth collaborative musical from the writers-composers Plate and Sommer, who also share the theater\u2019s artistic leadership. For the first time, the core idea comes from the gay composer duo themselves. It marks, they say, their most personal project to date, drawing on their own experiences and memories, following works such as Ku\u2019damm 56, Romeo &amp; Juliet \u2014 Love Is Everything, and Die Amme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re Alive\u201d is described as a monument and a tribute to music, stories, and emotions, according to the show\u2019s program. It also remembers all those who died of AIDS in the 1990s.
