The most colorful and uplifting season of the year is here\u2014and with it, nature is showing off all its joy. Plants, flowers, and trees are blooming again in their finest splendor, inviting you to take springtime strolls through the city. But you won\u2019t have to wait much longer for your favorite flowers either. Brandenburg\u2019s largest tulip market<\/a> opens in just a few days, and right on time for Easter, the season<\/a> also kicks off at Britzer Garten<\/a>, where you can experience what is arguably the city\u2019s most impressive display of tulips. Shortly after that comes one of spring\u2019s most visually stunning highlights: the cherry blossoms. While they can be spotted in various places around the city<\/a>, this year\u2019s most important spot is a very special one. Berlin\u2019s largest cherry blossom festival will take place at the Gardens of the World on April 11 and 12, 2026 .<\/p>\n

The Cherry Blossom Festival is celebrated during the day, usually between about 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. This weekend, the venue in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district will transform into a sprawling sea of blossoms from delicate pink cherry trees. This special setting provides the perfect backdrop for the traditional hanami\u2014gathering and celebrating together under the blossoming trees.<\/p>\n

Admission to the festival is usually included in the regular park admission fee, which is currently around nine euros for adults . Due to its immense popularity, tens of thousands of visitors are expected each year.<\/p>\n

The program features a diverse lineup of stages, shows, and cultural performances. Visitors can enjoy traditional dances and music from Japan, China, and Korea, as well as drumming, singing, and various other performances. Many artists will perform in traditional costumes. Highlights include a classical fashion show on Sunday and numerous performances across multiple stages.<\/p>\n

Another staple of the event is the cosplay competition, which showcases elaborately designed manga and anime costumes . This creates an exciting blend of traditional culture and modern pop culture with a strong Japanese influence. The festival also has plenty to offer in terms of cuisine. The grounds feature numerous stalls serving Asian street food\u2014 from sushi and yakitori to bibimbap, as well as mochi and other sweets. Overall, a visit feels like a mini culinary journey through various regions of Asia right in the heart of Berlin.<\/p>\n

In addition to the shows, there are numerous interactive activities. These include arts and crafts and market stalls, as well as workshops on calligraphy, origami, and other traditional techniques.
