{"id":4810,"date":"2026-02-08T11:11:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T11:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/4810\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T11:11:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T11:11:23","slug":"medical-devices-innovation-and-patient-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/4810\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical Devices: Innovation and Patient Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 16 March, the European Commission will host a high-level conference in Brussels entitled \u201cMedical Devices: Innovation and patient safety\u201d, under the auspices of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will feature a keynote address\u00a0from\u00a0Oliver V\u00e1rhelyi, EU Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare. Participants include representatives from EU regulatory authorities, the Council, the European Parliament, and other experts from EU stakeholders\u2019 associations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The conference will take stock of the latest developments in the sector and will offer a glimpse into the future following the adoption of the Commission\u2019s proposal for the revision of the medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic medical devices on 16 December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will feature three breakout sessions focusing on:<\/p>\n<p>Enhanced predictability for conformity assessments: combining certainty with flexibilityClinical evidence at EU level to support the regulatory framework: the key role of Expert PanelsBreakthrough technologies for better care: turning guidance into reality\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/health.ec.europa.eu\/document\/download\/efa94627-66f2-4ee3-a266-9146d1931a26_en?filename=md_20260316_ag_en.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Draft Agenda\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/register.event-works.europa.eu\/dgscic\/MD_26\/e\/lk\/g\/88625\/k\/\" class=\"ecl-link ecl-link--primary-highlight\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Registration<\/a> for onsite participation at the conference is now open and will close on 20 February.
