During the evening rush hour, the station was evacuated as a precaution and commuters were cleared out,&#8221; \u2060Interior Minister Bernard Quintin said on social media platform X.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Most train traffic in the Belgian capital passes through Midi station, but no trains arrived \u200bor departed \u200bbetween roughly 5:30 p.m. (1630 GMT) and \u200b8:00 p.m. (1900 GMT), the Infrabel \u200cspokesperson said, adding disruptions would remain for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The station is the main high-speed hub for connections between Brussels, Paris, London, Amsterdam and Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Midi metro station was also closed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On March 22, 2016, coordinated bombings carried out by Islamic State militants killed \u200cdozens of people at Brussels Airport and \u200bMaalbeek metro station.
