(NEW YORK, NY) — Berlin Under A presents “Roots Rock Women”<\/a> on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. \u00a0The lineup includes Debra Devi, Faith NYC, Stephanie Marie & The Double-Knit Players. Doors are at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $15 and available for purchase<\/a> online.\u00a0Berlin Under A is located at\u00a025 Avenue A at 2nd Street (downstairs) in New York City.<\/p>\n

8:00pm\u00a0– Debra Devi<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0If you love \u201cdreamy blues\/rock and blistering psychedelic jams\u201d (Relix), you\u2019re in for an exciting ride with Debra Devi and her powerhouse band.\u00a0American Blues Scene\u00a0calls Debra Devi “one of today’s top female blues-rock guitarists,” comparing her to Samantha Fish and Susan Tedeschi.\u00a0JamBase\u00a0says she\u2019s “a supersonic fret-burner who also writes hauntingly memorable songs.”<\/p>\n

Devi’s live EP,\u00a0Jamification Station Vol. 1\u00a0captures her at full throttle, hitting #5 on the\u00a0Relix\/Jambands.com\u00a0Top 30 Radio Chart. Devi plays festivals from Memphis to Montana and has opened for Fantastic Cat, Jesse Malin, Willie Nile, Ana Popovic, Joan Osborne and more.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s the author of\u00a0The Language of the Blues: From Alcorub to Zuzu\u00a0(foreword by Dr. John). Based in Jersey City, Devi\u2019s band includes Kevin Jones (bass), John Roccesano (drums) and Martin Schmid (keys).<\/p>\n

FaithNYC<\/p>\n

7:00pm\u00a0– FaithNYC<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0The emergence of Felice Rosser\u2019s FaithNYC reveals another facet of the seemingly infinite diamond of Black American music. Born in Detroit, she experienced Motown, the 1967 riots, Funkadelic, The MC5, The Stooges and The New York Dolls before moving to New York City for college. Blown away by Television at CBGB\u2019s, she became part of the scene, befriending Samo\u2014Jean Michel Basquiat\u2019s tag at that time\u2014and starting to write songs and play bass.<\/p>\n

Inspired by punk\u2019s DIY attitude, Rock &\u00a0Roll, Funk, Free Jazz, Dub, Reggae and the new Hip Hop scene all became part of her musical language. She was the bass player in Brooklyn\u2019s all-female reggae band Sistren before she formed FaithNYC, which became part of Vernon Reid\u2019s Black Rock Coalition. Her new album,\u00a0Love Is a Wish Away, was produced by Justin Adams, the Robert Plant, Tinariwen and Sinead O\u2019Connor collaborator, who also plays guitar on the album and features veteran New York drummer and percussionist Fin Hunt.<\/p>\n

6:00pm – Stephanie Marie & The Double-Knit Players<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0Stephanie Marie, The Tennessee MC is a singer\/songwriter who hails from Memphis, TN and has been a proud New Yorker since 2004. Having produced a variety of shows and perfected her sound over the past 8 years, Stephanie Marie brings her love of country, blues, soul, folk and rock to the stage.<\/p>\n

Her band, The Double Knit Players, is a combo made up of some of NYC’s most beloved musicians – Mike Fornatale, Charly Roth, Shu Nakamura, Jeff Gordon, and Jason Isaac. Not just a hot chick in a big wig, Stephanie Marie is a little Nashville and a lotta Memphis, offering up a fabulous mix of genres that will make y\u2019all so happy that you’ll want to dance, you’ll want to sing, you’ll want to get up and get down and who knows what else when they hit the stage!<\/p>\n
