{"id":49011,"date":"2026-03-26T10:51:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:51:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/49011\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T10:51:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:51:11","slug":"orsted-completes-920mw-wind-turbine-installation-at-greater-changhua-taiwan-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/49011\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00d8rsted completes 920MW wind turbine installation at Greater Changhua, Taiwan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u00d8rsted has reached a milestone at the Greater Changhua offshore wind project in Taiwan by completing the installation of all the turbines at the 920MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Located 35\u201360km from Changhua County, the project consists of 66 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 14MW.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Offshore construction commenced in February 2025, with Siemens Gamesa beginning turbine installation in April last year using Cadeler\u2019s Wind Maker vessel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Greater Changhua 2b and 4 is said to be the first offshore wind project in the region to deliver renewable power to \u00d8rsted\u2019s corporate customer under a power purchase agreement signed in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The project has supplied electricity to Taiwan\u2019s grid since first power was achieved in July 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Safety performance was prioritised throughout all phases of the project, covering vessel mobilisation, offshore operations and contractor selection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The team has recorded around 131,576 working hours offshore with zero lost-time injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The focus will now shift to commissioning, electrical system testing and completing cable works. Full commercial operation is expected in the third quarter of 2026 (Q3 2026).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Technical achievements include being the first regional project to use piling-free suction bucket jacket foundations and the global deployment of 14MW turbines with 115m-long blades.
