They were insulted verbally before one of the attackers pulled a machete out of his jacket, with which he first hit the man on the head.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The attacker then took the protective cover off the machete and attacked the woman. They both suffered injuries. A second unknown attacker beat the two victims while this was happening. Only when eyewitnesses intervened did they stop the attack.<\/p>\n<p>B.Z.\u00a0was the first to suggest that the attack was politically motivated, considering the couple was leaving a left-leaning bar, and the perpetrators are said to have shouted \u201cSieg Heil\u201d during the attack. The two men fled via the Scharnweberstra\u00dfe in an unknown direction.<\/p>\n<p>The injured 19-year-olds were taken to hospital and further investigations are ongoing.
