{"id":50390,"date":"2026-03-28T01:39:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T01:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/50390\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T01:39:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T01:39:11","slug":"papuashvili-accuses-helsinki-commission-of-using-georgian-opposition-for-political-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/50390\/","title":{"rendered":"Papuashvili accuses Helsinki Commission of \u2018using\u2019 Georgian opposition for political attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has sharply criticized the US Helsinki Commission, accusing it of exploiting Georgian opposition figures, including Elene Khoshtaria, to undermine the country\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/advert.georgiatoday.ge\/www\/delivery\/ck.php?n=abcebd72&amp;cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/advert.georgiatoday.ge\/www\/delivery\/avw.php?zoneid=10&amp;cb=INSERT_RANDOM_NUMBER_HERE&amp;n=abcebd72\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to journalists, Papuashvili dismissed the Commission\u2019s recent statement, which alleged that the ruling Georgian Dream party is using the judiciary to silence political opponents, and instead claimed that opposition figures are being encouraged to commit offenses for political purposes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKhoshtaria and people like her are the Helsinki Commission\u2019s personal prisoners,\u201d Papuashvili said. \u201cThey are incited to commit crimes, then imprisoned, and later used to attack the Georgian government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parliament Speaker claimed external actors are deliberately encouraging unlawful actions in order to later issue critical statements, resolutions, and political assessments targeting the Georgian authorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey incite them to commit crimes so they can later organize discussions and adopt statements.
