\n Maersk, a Danish container shipping company, has temporarily suspended?its operations?at the Port of Salalah in Oman. This was due to a security incident which occurred on Saturday morning.\n<\/p>\n
\n The shipping giant released a statement saying that all Maersk crew were safe and accounted. No company cargo or vessels were affected.\n<\/p>\n
\n A crane at the terminal was damaged in an accident, resulting in a temporary shutdown of all operations.\n<\/p>\n
\n Maersk estimates that the operations will be halted in 48 hours.\n<\/p>\n
\n The disruption comes as the conflict in the ‘Gulf, triggered by U.S., Israeli and other airstrikes on Iran, has unstabilized energy and transport markets.
