Greenland Resources has entered a memorandum of understanding with ROGESA Roheisen-und Rohstoffgesellschaft Saar, a joint venture of the German steel producers Dillinger and Saarstahl, concerning future molybdenum supply.

The memorandum outlines plans for a long-term arrangement to supply Dillinger and Saarstahl with ferro-molybdenum, molybdenum-oxide, and briquettes derived from molybdenum ore. The material is intended to be sourced from Greenland and subsequently refined in Belgium to conform to European standards. These products are utilized by sectors including automotive, construction, power engineering, and general mechanical engineering.

Dillinger manufactures heavy plates for applications in oil and gas transport, offshore exploration, wind energy infrastructure, boilers, and steel construction. Saarstahl produces items for use in exceptionally harsh conditions. Output from these firms is considered important for strategic domains such as renewable energy generation, sustainable transport, and defense.

Europe is the second-largest global consumer of molybdenum and depends significantly on imports due to an absence of domestic extraction. Germany, as the largest user of the metal within the European Union, classifies molybdenum as a high-risk resource. A European Commission initiative previously identified the Malmbjerg project in Greenland as a priority undertaking for the bloc.

This follows a prior memorandum of understanding signed by Greenland Resources in September 2025 with Hempel Metallurgical for long-term molybdenum supply to the German steel industry.

 1.
