Instead, that coveted title belongs to the Italian city of Turin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Ahead of the bustling summer tourist season, Avis examined European cities for their chocolate culture, taking into account the number of chocolatiers and shops listed on Yelp, chocolate-related attractions such as museums and factory tours, and consumer ratings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Their research placed Turin firmly at the top, closely followed by Perugia, also in <a aria-label=\"ItalyLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/italy\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">Italy<\/a>, with Austria&#8217;s Salzburg taking third place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Two British cities also featured on the list, with one securing fourth place and London coming in eighth.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Turin\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/0_Turin.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p aria-label=\"Turin has been known for its chocolate since the late 1500s\" class=\"ImageCaption_caption-title__ccyQU\" data-testid=\"caption-title\">Turin has been known for its chocolate since the late 1500s(Image: Getty)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Turin boasts 233 chocolatiers and five chocolate attractions; regarded as Europe&#8217;s historic chocolate capital since 1585, the city is the birthplace of gianduja and bicerin &#8211; iconic hazelnut-chocolate specialities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">There&#8217;s also the Pfatisch Chocolate Museum and factory tours from renowned brands such as Caffarel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The city&#8217;s annual CioccolaT\u00f2 festival further solidifies its standing as a must-visit destination for immersive chocolate experiences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Taking to <a aria-label=\"TripAdvisorLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/tripadvisor\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">TripAdvisor<\/a>, one recent visitor to the Pfatisch Chocolate Museum wrote: &#8220;Beautiful audio guided tour, interactive for families. The children had a great time with the interactive games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Very cosy and realistic environment recreated for the tour. Exhaustive on the subject. It involved all the senses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;Small taste of the three chocolates (dark, milk, white) and finally the king Gianduiotto.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Meanwhile, another visitor who enjoyed a trip to the Pfatish Museum remarked: &#8220;This place looks it belongs on a movie set. Everything looks so good and so perfect.
