\"\"RB Rail AS has announced the launch of a new procurement procedure for design consultancy services for the energy subsystem of the Rail Baltica project in Latvia and Lithuania, the next step in the detailed technical development of the electrification system.<\/p>\n

The tender is divided into two separate lots, one for Latvia and one for Lithuania, so that interested companies can submit bids for one of the countries or for both.<\/p>\n

Independent expertise for electrification solutions<\/p>\n

According to RB Rail, the contract aims to secure independent design expertise services to support the further development of the Rail Baltica<\/a> energy subsystem and ensure technically sound, high-quality electrification solutions that comply with all applicable requirements.<\/p>\n

The company encourages the participation of local design firms with relevant experience in Latvia and Lithuania.<\/p>\n

The Rail Baltica energy subsystem includes traction substations, including high-voltage components, as well as the contact line infrastructure, which must ensure a safe, stable, and efficient power supply for railway operations.<\/p>\n

Electrification, one of the project\u2019s priorities<\/p>\n

As work on the Rail Baltica electrification progresses in the Baltic states, delivering robust technical solutions remains one of the project\u2019s central priorities, RB Rail emphasizes.<\/p>\n

Bids must be submitted exclusively in electronic format via the E-Tenders system no later than May 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Riga time. Proposals submitted through other channels will not be accepted or evaluated.<\/p>\n

Rail Baltica is one of the largest high-speed rail projects in Europe and is part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).<\/p>\n

The project aims to improve connectivity, strengthen regional security, and support economic growth in the Baltic States by connecting Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to Poland and, indirectly, to Finland, as well as to the broader European rail network.<\/p>\n
