a figure thought to be unsurpassed in banking history in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Total lending at Danske rose 10% year-on-year to just shy of \u00a37 billion, with new lending approvals for business customers alone exceeding \u00a31 billion, while \u00a3790 million was approved in in local mortgage lending.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Deposits were up 9% in 2025 to a record high of \u00a312.4 billion, which the bank says represents \u201ca significant opportunity to further stimulate local economic growth\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/former-director-of-co-antrim-hospitality-group-handed-14-year-ban-by-high-court-SZLB2G75QVHA7HESQBGTWZ6KUQ\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Former director of Co Antrim hospitality group handed 14-year ban by High Court\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/GYWZA4FLSFD2VFWYS53WJ47OZU.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/><\/a><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/business\/liquidators-appointed-to-rite-price-as-60-year-old-belfast-furniture-firm-bows-to-difficult-trading-conditions-GI2BWNUOHVB5JJTSBXN65B744Q\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Liquidators appointed to Rite Price as 60-year old Belfast furniture firm bows to &#x2018;difficult trading conditions&#x2019;\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/K76GZUGDP5BV7D4LJMPQMIYZ2I.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">And in what is seen as further reflecting the strength of Danske\u2019s loan portfolio, it did not report an impairment charge (such charges are triggered by defaults, a decline in the value of an investment, or a decrease in the market value of an asset).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m of the opinion that growing bank is a healthy bank,\u201d Danske Bank\u2019s UK chief executive Vicky Davies said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Danske Bank's headquarters on Belfast's Donegall Square West. \" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/A5OW7TABT5IZHBUEXWSMMREONY.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"533\"\/>Danske Bank has reported a pre-tax profit of \u00a3250.4 million. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe are entering 2026 in a strong financial position, which enables us to support customers when they need us and to invest in new products and services to enhance customer experience.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Danske, which employs 1,400 staff, currently has 24 bank branches across the north.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">There were no bank closures in 2025, and Danske is continuing its branch investment, including the opening of new more fit for purpose high street premises in Ballymoney, with similar style branch relocations in Coleraine and Lisburn to be completed in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Ms Davies added: \u201cWe are committed to empowering businesses to grow, to helping people achieve their homebuying goals, and to continuing to play a key role in growing the Northern Ireland economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIn 2025 we supported the local business community with over \u00a31 billion in new lending approvals, an increase of around 35% year-on-year. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cNotable business deals included growth funding support for local enterprises Andras House hotel group, Vision Fabrications, Manfreight, Hillmount garden centres, Cathedral Eye Clinic, Orto Pizza, Bruce Engineering, Apex Housing Association, Radius Housing and Rural Housing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe also attracted more than 1,700 new small business customers to Danske Bank and lending approvals for small businesses were up 11% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe also maintained our position as a leading provider of mortgages in Northern Ireland, delivering a record \u00a3790 million in local mortgage lending approvals &#8211;
