Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen rejected US President Donald Trump\u2019s recent description of the Arctic island. Trump posted<\/a> on social media that NATO was unreliable and called Greenland \u201cthat big, poorly run, piece of ice.\u201d Nielsen responded firmly to the remarks on Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are not some piece of ice. We are a proud population of 57,000 people, working every single day as good global citizens in full respect for all our allies,\u201d Nielsen told the Reuters news agency. He called on NATO allies to unite in defense of international law and the post-war geopolitical order. He stressed that these principles face serious challenges right now.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s frustration stemmed from NATO\u2019s reluctance to join the US-Israel war on Iran.
