\"Hambardzum<\/p>\n

Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan will pay a working visit to Oslo from April 13-15, 2026, at the invitation of Andreas Bjeland Eriksen, Minister of Climate and Environment of the Kingdom of Norway.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the visit is to strengthen cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Norway in biodiversity conservation, as well as to discuss the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two countries. The Memorandum was signed on September 25, 2025, in New York, to develop bilateral cooperation in environmental protection.<\/p>\n

High-level ministerial meetings and professional discussions are planned within the framework of the visit, which will focus on the preparatory work for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).<\/p>\n

The agenda of the discussions also includes issues related to urban climate action, climate adaptation, biodiversity management at the national and global levels, climate diplomacy, digital sequence information (DSI) of genetic resources, and biodiversity financing.<\/p>\n

Particular attention will be paid to the opportunities for synergistic cooperation between the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Convention on Biological Diversity.<\/p>\n
