There will be some notable changes made to the Real Madrid squad in the summer after what has been another disappointing season.<\/p>\n

While a number of new arrivals are being planned, there will be cuts made to the current roster, with quite a few players likely to depart.<\/p>\n

One such player whose time at the Santiago Bernabeu could be nearing an end is midfielder Dani Ceballos<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ceballos set to depart, Ajax keen<\/p>\n

Indeed, according to Matteo Moretto on MARCA<\/a>, Ceballos is set to definitely leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

And, as per the journalist, Dutch heavyweights Ajax have shown a strong interest in signing the Spaniard, with initial contacts also taking place.<\/p>\n

Ceballos has endured another frustrating season during which he has struggled for relevance in the first team at Real Madrid.<\/p>\n

So far in 2025\/26, the 29-year-old midfielder has only played 810 minutes across 22 matches across all competitions, starting only seven of those.<\/p>\n

Ceballos\u2019 contract expires in the summer of 2027, meaning he will enter the final year of his deal this summer.<\/p>\n

It has become clear that he does not have a prominent role in the team and not selling him this summer would leave Real Madrid at the risk of losing him for free next year.<\/p>\n

So, a departure at the end of the season is very much on the cards<\/a>. What now remains to be seen is whether the interest from Ajax materialises into something beyond the initial contact.<\/p>\n
