{"id":62963,"date":"2026-04-17T09:00:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T09:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/62963\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T09:00:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T09:00:12","slug":"icelandic-experimental-electronic-act-mum-to-appear-in-tallinn-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/62963\/","title":{"rendered":"Icelandic experimental electronic act M\u00fam to appear in Tallinn | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Iceland&#8217;s indietronica band M\u00fam is to perform in Tallinn in August<\/p>\n<p>M\u00fam were founded in Reykjavik in 1997 by Gunnar \u00d6rn Tynes and \u00d6rvar Sm\u00e1rason, and were soon joined by the twin sisters Krist\u00edn Anna and Gy\u00f0a Valt\u00fdsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00fam combines diffuse vocals, electronic glitch rhythms, and unconventional instruments in their music, and have released several studio albums and singles, as well as composing music for theatre and film.<\/p>\n<p>The group has also been involved in various collaborative projects with musicians and collectives from diverse backgrounds, including Kylie Minogue, Kronos Quartet, J\u00f3hann J\u00f3hannsson, and the Leipzig MDR Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>The band last year released its seventh studio album, &#8220;History of Silence&#8221;, which continues the group&#8217;s characteristic experimental approach. The band&#8217;s current touring lineup includes founding members Tynes and Sm\u00e1rason, as well as singer and multi-instrumentalist Sigurlaug G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir (Mr. Silla) and Finnish percussionist and composer Samuli Kosminen. They are often joined on stage by Gy\u00f0a Valt\u00fdsd\u00f3ttir and guitarist R\u00f3berta Andersen.
