{"id":63462,"date":"2026-04-18T01:44:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T01:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/63462\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T01:44:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T01:44:11","slug":"youtube-says-iran-linked-ai-lego-video-channel-removed-over-policy-breaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/63462\/","title":{"rendered":"YouTube says Iran-linked AI Lego video channel removed over policy breaches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-0-CEBUNQYSCFED5J5B4WGJT2YJKM\">YouTube said on Thursday that it had decided to suspend an account sharing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/news\/us\/2026\/04\/10\/iran-lego-videos-removed-youtube\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/news\/us\/2026\/04\/10\/iran-lego-videos-removed-youtube\/\">pro-Iran videos<\/a> with the look and feel of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/podcasts\/beyond-the-headlines\/2026\/04\/10\/theatre-of-war-how-ai-videos-and-propaganda-clips-manipulated-us-iran-conflict\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/podcasts\/beyond-the-headlines\/2026\/04\/10\/theatre-of-war-how-ai-videos-and-propaganda-clips-manipulated-us-iran-conflict\/\">The Lego Movie<\/a> due to breaches of policy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-1-N4XQGPCO4VEQLF2DW46CNYQ7OI\">A representative for the video-sharing platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2025\/09\/04\/google-sundar-pichai-white-house-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2025\/09\/04\/google-sundar-pichai-white-house-trump\/\">owned by US technology giant Google<\/a> confirmed the claims by Explosive Media that its channel had been taken down in recent days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-3-6OZ5JPFJKVG5HLRJXCEQ2GAYWA\">&#8220;We terminated the channel for violating our spam, deceptive practices and scams policies,&#8221; a statement provided to The National read. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-5-4D457BOGENHKVBLUC7LAJIKIPA\">It was unclear what part of YouTube&#8217;s policies had been breached. The long YouTube policy guide says breaches could involve the use of misleading thumbnails, comment spam, unauthorised use of third-party content or financial scams. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-6-SKERVUVHG5AWRCWHDPNL7VYFKQ\">&#8220;Please note these policies also apply to external links in your content,&#8221; YouTube&#8217;s policy guide states. &#8220;This can include clickable URLs, verbally directing users to other sites in video, as well as other forms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-8-6N7LDDTVPBAODJOWNSLUH7C37Q\">Explosive Media initially said that YouTube had removed its channel for showing &#8220;violent content&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-9-BY2IH4QPE5B4FKFEHBCZ2XMC2U\">The platform has not yet responded to The National&#8217;s request for comment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-10-WJEBUJ6GTFGXVNNRO7UJKZABDM\">Explosive Media&#8217;s accounts on X, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2026\/01\/28\/what-is-upscrolled-palestine-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2026\/01\/28\/what-is-upscrolled-palestine-gaza\/\">UpScrolled<\/a> and other platforms are still running. Its Instagram account was blocked for several hours last week, but later returned. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-11-DBVH4ZCJ5ZBA7IKYFVHQRVKZBM\">&#8220;Look, we survived the ban,&#8221; the group posted on Instagram&#8217;s story feature. &#8220;Huge respect to everybody who had our back and stayed solid.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-12-YFUROB7IVRCQFADXJXMRBUI754\">The popularity of the videos, which mimic the style of the popular series of Warner Bros-produced films, have also raised legal questions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-13-RJMTMPTYU5D57JGLJITWNZXWH4\">&#8220;Does the Lego company just accept it or do they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2026\/03\/17\/joseph-gordon-levitt-united-nations-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/future\/technology\/2026\/03\/17\/joseph-gordon-levitt-united-nations-ai\/\">call the UN<\/a> and speak to legal?&#8221; a user on X joked. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-14-HMCB47O23FGW7PKYTEIAHVIN4Q\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t think that Iran has to abide by US copyright laws,&#8221; another post read. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-15-DNDOYWROIBGQRMKK6TN2T52XKI\">Lego, based in Denmark, has not yet responded to request for comment. Warner Bros also did not immediately respond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-16-ZQVRVXLNKZGMZKEPBUM3Y7T4GA\">The creation of AI-generated videos continues to grow. Even the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/news\/us\/2026\/04\/07\/what-is-the-25th-amendment-trump-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/news\/us\/2026\/04\/07\/what-is-the-25th-amendment-trump-iran\/\">Trump White House<\/a> has put out several such videos and photos. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-17-RIHUJM56AFHONCU5BWOVUKTBCA\">One of the more prominent creations, released after the launch of the war with Iran, included clips from the game Call of Duty, interspliced with White House and US military images. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-18-ZW2VZ3YCWRAG3PVGB6AOGEKG5M\">But the anti-US videos created by Explosive Media have received significantly more shares and engagement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-19-4LXGRQSJKJFU5N7O3ZPZYNSRDI\">The group&#8217;s content started to appear in 2025, and consisted largely of political commentary delivered by a young Iranian.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-20-AREEX2DKXRHAZJNXOQCMPWY3KU\">As tension increased between the US and Iran in February, the videos began to take on a more polished look. They began to incorporate AI tools and the motif of The Lego Movie to respond to geopolitical issues in a way that was sympathetic to Iran and critical of the US. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-22-VROZ3ACZMBFQPGJRPUIUSFTVJY\">One video shows Mr Trump having a terrifying dream about the after-effects of launching strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure, including extreme suffering in the US and throughout the Middle East. It concludes with him tearfully eating a taco, a reference to &#8220;Trump Always Chickens Out&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-23-3CHONPWHUNEANKZRQYXULPKFBE\">The videos have been viewed millions of times and shared by the official social media accounts of Iranian officials and embassies around the world. <\/p>\n<p>Plea for financial assistance <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-25-7XP4XIOLDVH7PAUAY2IPZYSOW4\">The AI-generated videos by Explosive Media are not cheap to produce, apparently. On Wednesday, the group said that it would need financial assistance to keep producing content. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-26-FQLPYQYJ2NCN5FBTUWAF2VZGDA\">&#8220;To keep improving and cover the production costs of our animations, we need additional funding,&#8221; a message on the company&#8217;s Telegram channel read in part. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-28-VWISOGAOPVCXNFLYRL624OE3V4\">&#8220;So if you enjoy our work, you can support us by making a donation through this wallet.&#8221; The message included a QR code linking to Bitcoin and Solana crypto accounts. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-29-ODI5QLUMRJAZ3LR7P4CBQCNMDQ\">An earlier post on the Telegram channel stated: &#8220;We&#8217;re not stopping \u2013 the Lego-style animations will keep coming, stronger than ever.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 huqwQJ margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-30-NTVA4LCRMNEVTESTG3PIWGUEOU\">Much of Iran has probably not seen the videos by Explosive Media.
