\u201cThe ending of it still brings a smile to my face when I look on to the pitch at that goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think a lot of people are like that now.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s important that we don\u2019t rest on that. We want to go and achieve a lot of good things in the summer as well and give the whole country something to shout about.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know people will be in pubs, clubs and houses back home and we\u2019ll be well supported in America.<\/p>\n

Previous winners of the SFWA award have bene the likes of John McGinn and Scott McTominay.<\/p>\n
But Robertson is adamant that the strength of Clarke\u2019s squad is their team spirit.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old – who will leave Anfield at the end of the season – says the current crop of players are a rarity in the modern game.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThis is the best group ever to lead. That\u2019s not me exaggerating. It\u2019s full of good people.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s full of people with no ego at all and we all fight for the same cause.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all just want to send everyone inside Hampden home happy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s the good thing about it. International squads can be big, maybe a 23 to 26 man squad.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo you need everyone fighting in the same direction whether you play or don\u2019t play.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got a very rare group who does that. They\u2019re all supportive and that\u2019s why we can achieve what we\u2019ve achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n
Robertson picked up the award as skipper and claims it would have been unfair to pick out one player for the prize.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cIt means absolutely everything to achieve the country\u2019s dreams of going to the World Cup.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing able to collect this on behalf of the whole squad is a really nice touch.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo pick one player out would have been really difficult.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the whole squad to get recognised is great.\u201d<\/p>\n
