While the first film revolved around the catastrophic destruction caused by a comet, the sequel shifts its focus to the Garrity family’s struggle to survive in a fractured, post-apocalyptic world. Mountains crumble, earthquakes ravage the land, and society collapses into chaos with riots, guns, and authoritarian control. The film throws in every possible element to make this survival drama gripping and explosive—but ironically, it barely holds together. Its mediocrity stems not from excess, but from an overly familiar and outdated script that fails to bring anything fresh to the table.

Greenland 2 Migration Story:

Greenland 2 Migration follows John Garrity (Gerard Butler) as he attempts to locate a crater where humanity is supposedly rebuilding after the comet disaster. His wife Allison (Morena Baccarin), son Nathan (Roman Griffin Davis), and Dr. Amina (Amber Rose Revah) accompany him on this perilous journey. However, tragedy strikes early as Amina is killed, setting the tone for the dangers ahead. The family endures multiple attacks before finding temporary refuge with a French family. From there, Camille (Nelia Valery Da Costa) joins them on their mission to reach the crater. The question remains—will they reach their destination when even their contact person is no longer alive?

EXCLUSIVE: Hrithik Roshan Not Doing Any Romantic Film with Rakesh Roshan; Focus Locked on Krrish 4 & Hombale Project –

The narrative feels strikingly predictable from the very beginning. The conflicts are reminiscent of countless apocalyptic films, but here they feel even more dated and recycled. The survival sequences are riddled with clichés—you can foresee outcomes long before they unfold. It becomes evident that nothing truly threatening will happen to the core family, and even a critically wounded character conveniently survives just long enough to reach the destination before dying. Such tropes feel painfully outdated, even by the standards of older cinema. As a result, the journey lacks tension, making it difficult to stay emotionally invested. The only aspect that somewhat works is the underlying human drama and the theme of rebuilding for future generations, which manages to evoke occasional emotional resonance.

Greenland 2 Migration Cast:

Performance-wise, Gerard Butler once again delivers a solid performance and emerges as the strongest presence in the film. Morena Baccarin fits well into her role, while Amber Rose Revah leaves an impression despite her limited screen time. Roman Griffin Davis gets only a handful of moments to showcase his abilities but performs decently within those constraints. Nelia Valery Da Costa adds charm to her role, and the supporting cast does a satisfactory job overall.

Top 10 Footfalls Since 1990: Dhurandhar 2 Eyeing for the 6th Spot; Full List –

Greenland 2 Migration Movie Review:

On the technical front, the cinematography is surprisingly underwhelming for a film set in an apocalyptic landscape. One expects visually striking and immersive frames, but the lack of tension in the screenplay seems to reflect in the camera work as well. The sound design is adequate, and the editing remains crisp enough to keep the film moving at a steady pace. With a runtime of around one and a half hours, it never feels overly dragged. However, the production design and VFX fail to convincingly depict a devastated world—they lack the scale and intensity one would expect from such a setting. Director Ric Roman Waugh doesn’t bring any distinct vision to the film, and the execution feels largely uninspired. From writing to pacing, the film remains consistently mediocre, almost as if the effort behind it mirrors the viewer’s disengagement. Overall, Greenland 2 Migration turns out to be a missed opportunity—packed with potential but undone by formulaic storytelling and lackluster execution.

Stay tuned to Movie Talkies’ website and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), along with our YouTube channel, for the latest updates, breaking news, box office reports, movie reviews, celebrity spotting, and interviews from Bollywood, television, OTT, Hollywood, and regional cinema, including South Indian films.

[5
11988,57,2197,13246,2196
0":"post-65945","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-greenland","8":"tag-gerard-butler","9":"tag-greenland","10":"tag-greenland-2-migration","11":"tag-morena-baccarin","12":"tag-ric-roman-waugh
["GET
