{"id":65981,"date":"2026-04-22T09:47:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T09:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/65981\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T09:47:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T09:47:11","slug":"bricks-and-spaceships-a-project-hail-mary-lego-minifig-has-made-it-to-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/65981\/","title":{"rendered":"Bricks and spaceships: a \u2018Project Hail Mary\u2019 LEGO minifig has made it to space"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last month, childhood dreams around the world were made real \u2013 as a LEGO\u00ae minifigure depicting an astronaut actually flew into the galaxy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/phm-lego-space-pic-one.jpg\" alt=\"The LEGO set in space\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Firmly attached to a balloon-powered platform, this tiny plastic model of Ryan Gosling\u2019s character in Amazon MGM Studios&#8217; film Project Hail Mary (2026) \u2013 as well as his spaceship and alien friend Rocky \u2013 floated their way up until 114,790 ft (34,988 m) above Gwynedd County, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/news\/united-kingdom\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UK<\/a>, on 20 March. That\u2019s nearly a 22 mi (35 km)-long journey!<\/p>\n<p>For over eight hours, the minifigure spun amongst the blackness of space, witnessing the blue curvature of the planet and its cotton-like clouds, before falling back down to the green grass back on Earth. Once on solid ground, the tiny toy was safely recovered \u2013 making this incredible trip the highest altitude launch and retrieval of a LEGO\u00ae set in Guinness World Records history.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/phm-lego-space-pic-two.jpg\" alt=\"Lego set in space\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\" caption=\"false\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The bricks\u2019 brave ascent was organized by aerospace agency Sent Into Space, in partnership with LEGO and the minds behind Project Hail Mary (2026).
