The only response we received was the arrest of 110 of our colleagues,\u201d the Ba\u011f\u0131ms\u0131z Maden-\u0130\u015f miners\u2019 union said on X.<\/p>\n<p>Police had also <a href=\"https:\/\/sendika.org\/2026\/04\/doruk-madencilik-iscileri-enerji-bakanligina-yuruyor-basaran-aksu-gokay-cakir-ve-33-madenci-gozaltinda-746354\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">intervened<\/a> when the miners arrived in Ankara on Monday, detaining 33 workers.<\/p>\n<p>The lignite miners are demanding the payment of outstanding wages and redundancy pay from their employer, Doruk Mining.<\/p>\n<p>The mine was operated by a company seized by Turkey\u2019s Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) over alleged links to the faith-based G\u00fclen movement after a 2016 coup attempt.
