(Chasady Woods\/The Cullman Tribune) <\/p>\n<p>BERLIN, Ala. \u2013\u00a0The Berlin\u00a0Town Council\u00a0at its meeting Monday, April 20,\u00a0announced a ribbon cutting for the Berlin Farmers Market will take place\u00a0Friday, May 8, at 4 p.m. Lemonade and cookies will be provided by the council. The market is\u00a0located\u00a0at\u00a050 Mt. Carmel Dr.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Patrick Bates\u00a0introduced Ordinance No.\u00a02026-001, which\u00a0establishes\u00a0rules and regulations for the Berlin\u00a0Community Park\u00a0and\u00a0Farmers Market\u00a0site.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rules and regulations\u00a0address\u00a0littering, pets\/animals, alcohol and drugs, smoking and vaping,\u00a0motorized vehicles and bicycles, wildlife and vegetation and noise restrictions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Town Clerk\u00a0Keirstyn Montgomery\u00a0advised there needs\u00a0to be an update to enforce\u00a0tobacco\u00a0regulations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Councilman\u00a0Keith Hardman motioned to suspend the rules,\u00a0which was seconded by\u00a0Councilman\u00a0Donald Gunter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hardman motioned\u00a0to adopt the ordinance,\u00a0which Gunter also seconded.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ordinance was adopted unanimously.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ordinance No. 2026-003\u00a0was adopted,\u00a0with the council beginning the process of selecting a new town attorney.\u00a0Previous\u00a0Town Attorney Heath Meherg\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cullmantribune.com\/2026\/03\/08\/ivey-appoints-heath-meherg-32nd-judicial-circuit-district-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">was appointed by Gov. Kay Ivey back in March<\/a>\u00a0to serve as a Cullman County district judge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Discussing\u00a0County Roads\u00a01612, 1614 and 1616,\u00a0Bates told the council that Rogers Group had decided on a quote of $59,020.
